Mara & 71 by the Lake

This watercolor was done from a photo by Janice Clark, the Performing Animal Welfare Society's (PAWS) resident photographer. It was done as a donation for a fundraising event, a brunch and reception at the Dana Point Yacht Club, with special guest, Bob Barker. The event took place on February 10, 2007.

It is two of the PAWS African elephants, Mara and 71 enjoying some time by the lake at the ARK2000 sanctuary in San Andreas, California. 71 has since passed away. She was like Pat and Ed's child so her loss was devastating as are all the elephant losses.
